The world’s most futuristic yacht has been unveiled - and at 470 feet is also one of the biggest ever made.
With eight decks and three 195-foot masts, it has been dubbed 'Sailing Yacht A' - and one lucky Russian billionaire is set to try it out.
The gigantic, state-of-the-art craft has taken five years to build and is reportedly one of the largest sailing yacht in the world after work was finished in Kiel, the capital of the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
It was branded with a one-letter name, chosen to ensure that Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko's newest toy comes in first place in every shipping register - simply being called "A".
Its decks are connected by multiple lifts and free-floating spiral staircases, and it has left Kiel for a unspecified destination in southern Spain.
According to a spokesman for Russian billionaire industrialist Andrey Melnichenko, the official transfer to its owner will take place in late spring.
His new toy has already undergone successful sea trials on the Baltic Sea.
Three 295-foot masts stretch up from the extraordinary wedge-shaped boat hull.
The three masts are the highest carbon masts ever produced. One of them is accessible from the inside. But sailors do not need to climb them - the sails unfurl at the touch of a button.
The masts are technical masterpieces and can rotate to make best use of the wind.
The high-gloss luxurious ship will be able to dash across the waves at speeds of up to 20.8 knots (24 mph).
The gigantic ship also contains garages for four vehicles and a submarine, and a helipad on the bow.
